KAMPALA- The 20th day of March is a francophonie day and this looks at the whole sphere of those who speak the language, embrace the culture and share a common goal.

As part of the celebrations, the French Embassy in Uganda rose to the occasion and awarded Diploma certificates of French language proficiency to the security staff from the Uganda Police Force and Uganda People’s Defence Force after several months of studying.

Speaking at the event , at his residence in Nakasero,  H.E Xavier Sticker , the French Ambassador to Uganda said that they are happy to share patronage to all those who are interested in the  language.

” I’m happy that  most of you  are attracted to  multi lingualism since all languages are equal but for those who know  more languages it is an opportunity  to  have  shared goals.

We have both civilians and people from the forces who are willing and interested in learning which is something very good.  It is not only a celebration but it is a party to enjoy, eat and this contribution to the Francophonie”. Sticker added.

The day was also an opportunity to award excellent individuals that have taught French and promoted the language vehemently that included.
