KANUNGU- Ven. Rev. Canon Patrick Habasa was on Sunday installed as the Archdeacon of Nyakinoni. The ceremony, held at Nyakinoni Archdeaconry Headquarters in Katete, Nyakinoni Subcounty, Kanungu District, was presided over by the Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi.
Preaching under the theme “Imitating God’s Goodness by Doing Good” from Galatians 6:9–10, Rev. Canon Jovan Turyamureeba, Executive Director of the Batwa Development Program, encouraged Christians to serve together in the love of Jesus Christ and remain steadfast in doing good.
Bishop Zoreka urged parents to prioritize their children’s education as the new school term begins and encouraged communities to engage in income-generating activities for sustainable development.
He announced that the diocese’s key focus for 2025 will be education, income generation, and community development.
As part of this effort, Bishop Zoreka revealed that the diocese will organize Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD) competitions across all regions, culminating in May 2025 during celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Kinkiizi Diocese.
Distinguished guests, including Hon. Kinshaba Patience Nkunda, Woman MP for Kanungu District; Eng. Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo, LCV Chairperson for Kanungu; Canon Dr. Ben Mbonye, among other dignitaries attended the Service.
