BUSHENYI- The President of Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 stopped along the way to Bushenyi and spared time to address a huge number of Boda boda riders, youths, NRM stakeholders coordinated by #Team Marvin Baryaruha.
The group had a massive procession in Bushenyi Municipality and equally at Nyakabirizi Town to welcome H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa in Bushenyi District.
The President called upon this youthful and energetic team to work hard and fight poverty at household level by tapping into Government programs such as Parish Development Model, Emyooga among others to alleviate their households from poverty.
President Yoweri Museveni continued to Bushenyi Main Stadium where he asked Ankole sub region leaders to focus on social economic empowerment in order to enable communities to acquire skills, create jobs and generate wealth which he says will improve livelihoods development.
The president who was in the region for a three days tour of parish development model program assessment said leaders should not only focus on Roads infrastructure and electricity but should teach people on how to engage in productivity.
Museveni’s remarks came after leaders from Ankole subregion reminded him of unfulfilled promises in the region like the Kabwohe-Kitagata-kabira Rukungiri road and Kabwohe-Masheruka Nyakambu Bwizibwera-Nsiika 47km road which has taken long without being constructed.
In her speech,the Vice President Jessica Alupo commended President Yoweri Museveni for his tireless efforts in transforming Uganda into a peaceful and progressive nation, particularly in the fight against poverty.
During the same function, leaders endorsed president Museveni as the NRM party’s sole candidate for the 2026 elections.
