NEWS– The Vice President of Uganda Jessica Alupo has met the Chinese delegation to the Summit at her working Villa 42 in Oyala town in Equatorial Guinea on the sidelines of the C-10 Summit.

The Chinese delegation was led by His Excellency Liu Yuxi, Special Representative on African Affairs of the Chinese Government and included HE Fan Xuecheng Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Uganda and Mr Zhang Zhuo Liam, Director of Political Section at the Embassy.

Vice President Alupo hailed the cordial relationship between the two countries and their people characterized by trade and people to people exchange programs where a number of young Ugandans have been trained and skilled in China.

She pointed out that Chinese direct investments in industrial parks in Uganda offer employment to many youth,adding that training in Chinese language under the Confucius program is making Ugandan youth internationally capable workers.

The Vice President commended the mutual trust and respect between the Uganda and Chinese leadership based on mutual interests of their people.

She thanked China for the substantial support it has extended to Uganda in preparation for hosting the G77and China and NAM Summits in January next year.

The Special Representative assured the Vice President of Chinese support to Uganda and Africa as a dependable friend and said that China supports the Common African Position( CAP) to reform the United Nations Security Council and remove the historical injustices of not including Africa on the Council.
