NEWS- As few individuals are moving around with sponsored forms soliciting signatures for the sole candidature of the incumbent District Woman Member of Parliament, Cecilia Anyakoit declares interest for the same seat.
“With or without Anyakoit, we shall not accept the issue of sole candidature in Katakwi district. Let people exercise their democratic power to vote for leaders of their choice. Those moving with forms are being used for selfish gains”, Akareut Victor said.
The coming of Anyakoit means nobody among those used to collect signatures should continue dreaming of sole candidature in Katakwi district.
Anyakoit, the former UPC and now NRM member will tussle it out with the Vice President, Hon Jessica Alupo Epel without fear or favour in the 2026 Woman Parliamentary seat, Katakwi district.
The iron lady and no nonsense daughter of the soil has encouraged all her supporters to stay calm and urged those in the worrying camps to surrender their guns as soon as possible as the ground is going to be heated up with victory hymns.
Voters are seriously keen and advocating for effective accountability, good governance and service delivery from the seating leadership!
“An activist full of advocacy, momentum and vocal enough is here as a neutralizer to fight for the rights of the “Wanainchi” regardless of their political affiliation”, Anyakoit said while speaking to the press in Katakwi.
Anyakoit’s declaration has so far brought ululations everywhere as many members of NRM and others are eagerly waiting for the “one punch lady.
She is calling upon all District women council members, District councilors, LC3s, parish councilors, LC1s and 2s, party chairpersons, teaching fraternity, medical fraternity, opinion and cultural leaders, church, disabled, orphans and the General public to largely mobilise and support the new change.
United we stand, divided we fall, the seat is ours. Katakwi must change for development”, Anyakoit said.
