Dr. Rutahigwa delivering ironsheets in Rukungiri Municipality

NEWS- The Rukungiri Municipality legislator Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa has asked the people of Rukungiri Municipality to always trust leaders who fulfill their pledges if they want their area to take a positive step in terms of development.

Dr. Rutahigwa made these remarks while delivering 50 bags of cement to Kitazigurukwa Church of Uganda in Southern division, Rukungiri municipality to support them in construction of their church which is under construction.

On the same day, he proceeded to Kanyinya church of Uganda where he delivered 20 bags of cement also to support Christians in construction of commercial houses to increase their church income.

Rutahigwa revealed that a good leader is the one who listens to his constituents and extends support to them adding that he has supported the construction of both schools and churches irrespective of religion affiliation across Rukungiri Municipality.

The legislator has so far supported the Education sector like Rutoojo Model Primary School  in Rwentondo Ward Eastern Division, Nyakibale lower primary school , Rukungiri town council primary school, Kinyasano boarding Primary School, Immaculate heart girls school Nyakibale where each received 50 bags of cement to support their construction work.

Dr. Rutahigwa gave iron sheets to Kitimba Primary School, roofing teacher’s house at Rukondo Primary School, Kakonkooma Primary School, Kiyaga Primary School, Ruruku primary school, Kahororo Primary School, Kanyinya vocational institute among others.

Churches including Kasozi Catholic Church, Nyakibale parish, Emmanuel cathedral Kinyasano, Kakokooma church of Uganda, Christ the King Church, Kahororo, Kyatooko, Rwanyakisozi, Kiyaga, Revival, and Community Church, Rwakamondo Catholic Church, Kiziko Church of Uganda, Rwakabego Catholic Church are among those that have already benefited under Dr. Rutahigwa’s supporting hand.

Several trading centers in the Rukungiri Municipality, including Marumba, Kakonkoma, Katobo, Kakyeka, Omukarere-Ruruku, Omukyitibiko, Ahakashitaamo-Nyakyibale, Kagashe, Omukarere-Rwetondo, and Kanyanga, have solar street lights erected by Omuturagye.

Hon. Rutahigwa invited residents of Rukungiri municipality who are in opposition parties to join and support the NRM government stressing that since they voted him into power, the government has given them different projects like fiscal silage under construction, an ambulance, renovation of Makobore high school, construction of theater at Rukungiri health center 4 among other projects in pipeline.

He however said that all that he has so far done for his constituents during his first tenure have gone above and beyond what was accomplished in ten years the Municipality was in hands of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change- FDC, urging residents to vote for him again in 2026 in order to continue his work.
