NEWS- The veteran opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye’s situation is quite alarming.
According to reliable sources, he was kidnapped from Nairobi, Kenya, and forcibly returned to Uganda.
His wife, Winnie Byanyima, has corroborated this information, stating that he’s being held at Makindye military barracks in Kampala since Sunday.
Byanyima has demanded Besigye’s release, emphasizing that he’s not a soldier and shouldn’t be held in a military jail.
She’s also expressed concern that Besigye was kidnapped while attending a book launch in Nairobi.
“He was kidnapped last Saturday while he was in Nairobi for Hon Martha Karua’s book launch. I am now reliably informed that he is in a military jail in Kampala.
We his family and his lawyers demand to see him. He is not a soldier. Why is he being held in a military jail?” Byanyima posted on X.
The circumstances surrounding Besigye’s detention are still unclear with what charges he might be facing. However, his family and lawyers are seeking his immediate release and demanding to see him.
This is a developing story…..
