NEWS– The Police in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstances under which a 53 year old woman was muddered.
The deceased was identified as Bainenama Olivia a peasant resident of Nyarurambi cell, Kasheshe parish, Butanja sub county in Rukungiri district.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesman, it is alleged that on the 11th day of December 2023 at around 5P, Beinenama found her husband one Mugisha Abel grazing his goats and asked him to give her money for buying hens.
The husband gave her Ugx 40000 and she went to Kasheshe trading centre where she bought two hens from a seller and took them home.
When Mugisha Abel took the goats at home around 6Pm, he found Beinenama in the Kitchen already cut to death by unknown person.
The husband rung and informed Akandwanaho Edwin (deceased’s) daughter who reported Murder.
Maate told the press that a case was registered at Rukungiri SD Reference 46/11/12/2023, scene of the crime was visited by Homicide staff, examined and documented.
Statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, an exhibit of a panga recovered, the body was taken to RwaKabengo health centre III mortuary pending postermortem examination.
