NEWS- Kisoro municipality youths have cleaned the town aiming for its proper hygiene and sanitation that would in turn reduce the risks of natives contracting illnesses.
The mayor of Kisoro municipality Ndyana Richard thanked the visions of the leadership of youth in the municipality for keeping the town clean stressing that this indicates that leaders have the capacity and heart of keeping the town clean.
Ndyana added urging the community to be concerned for their municipality and entire country because without the youths, the country cannot progress. He is optimistic that this will push other people to follow the norm of cleaning the town which will lead to protection of people from being infected by diseases.
The Mayor further appealed to parents to do away with domestic violence and teach children their local languages in this Christmas festive season before he wished the community to enjoy it well.
“Children should be protected because through this festive season, many people want children not to have a good life and as responsible parents should ensure that children wherever they have gone, parents know” he pointed out.
The town clerk of Kisoro municipality Kisubi Ayubu thanked the leadership of youths for organizing the occasion of cleaning the town and urged them to continue thinking about the way of keeping hygiene and sanitation of the town.
Kisubi added that his office will always welcome the ideas of the youths in the municipality to clean the town because this will bring more people especially from the neighboring country Rwanda, something that will increase the business opportunities.
MEANTIME, the chairperson of Kisoro united Bodaboda operators Robert Kalangala has implored Bodaboda cyclists to protect their bodas from thieves ahead of Christmas festivities.
The Chairperson addressed our reporter today appealing to Bodaboda cyclists that thieves target to kill Bodaboda cyclists and take off their motorcycles especially during the night and Kalangala emphasized cyclists to take care and know the people they are taking in different areas of the District.
Mostly motorcycles are taken by thieves when the owners of them are in bars taking alcoholic drinks, enjoying dances and attending ceremonies and parties.
