RUKUNGIRI- Over 230 youths from 84 parishes under North Kigezi Diocese yesterday concluded their annual Next Generation Conference which was organized by the Diocese of Armidale from Australia in partnership with North Kigezi Diocese.
A one week conference held at Kinyasano Girls High School attracted speakers from Armidale and North Kigezi Dioceses who Lectured the attendants on Bible reading and exposition to help them grow as responsible youths who can explain and interpret the word of God to make a positive impact in their lives.
Ven. Andrew Kananura, the former Diocesan Youths Coordinator loued the youths that attended the conference for expressing maximum discipline during the period and the willingness to learn how to conduct themselves in the communities they live in.
Kananura also revealed that the Next Generation Conference aims at transforming the lives of the youths by nurturing and teaching them how to read and interpret the Bible hence appealing to the parents and guardians to always send their children to such convention.
Kananura also lauded the office of the Bishop for his new deployment as the Archdeacon of Kakinga while he handed over the office of the Diocesan Youths Coordinator to the Rev. Amanya Benson. He appealed to the youths to cooperate with Rev. Benson loves him, which will help in easing his job.

Rev. Benson Amanya, the incoming Diocesan Youths Coordinator acknowledged the tremendous work of his predecessor and thanked minds behind this initiative adding that it has helped and transformed many youths in the Diocese as well as nurturing new church leaders, himself inclusive.

Rev. David Owokwesiga, the new Karire parish priest in Kakinga Archdeaconry, who was among the preachers revealed that many people use their own thoughts while preaching the gospel of God, something he said is unethical hence appealing to them to always participate in this conference to be guided on how to interpret the Bible for all genders and ages to understand.
