The National Unity Platform (NUP) has addressed the nation from Makerere Kavule, raising concerns about alleged violence and irregularities in the recently concluded general elections.
The party called on Ugandans who say they experienced election-related violence to come forward with evidence to support planned legal action both locally and internationally.
The National Unity Platform also announced plans to sue the Office of the DPP over the failure to transfer certain cases from military to civilian courts, citing concerns about individuals who have remained on remand since 2021.
The Party condemned what it described as brutality and malpractice during the elections and urged religious leaders and citizens to speak out and also plans to begin nationwide consultations starting with the Kampala metropolitan area.
