The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, The Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has today officially launched the 2025 Christian Confirmation season with a vibrant service at St. Peter’s Cathedral – Nyakatare, where 57 candidates were confirmed in their faith in Jesus Christ.
The event was held under theme, “Renewed Hearts”, inspired by God’s promise in the book of Ezekiel to give His people a new heart and a new spirit.
The sermon was delivered by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev Can Gad Tibeijuka Ngyemura, who urged the newly confirmed and the entire congregation to embrace spiritual renewal and live transformed lives for Christ.
In his pastoral remarks, Bishop Zoreka encouraged Christians to practice discernment and responsibility in civic matters and advised believers to rise above tribalism and religious biases when voting, urging them to instead consider the capabilities of candidates who can contribute positively and meaningfully to national leadership and parliamentary discourse.
The service was graced by Rev Andrew Agaba the Household and Community Transportation Director at the Provincial Secretariat who applauded the Christians of St Peter’s Cathedral for their dedication and sacrifice in building such a magnificent Cathedral, calling it a testimony of their love for God.
Also present were the Subdean, the Very Rev Can James Kabagambe, and a full team of priests from the Cathedral Deanery, who gathered to support and witness this significant spiritual milestone for the Diocese.
According to the Diocese of Kinkiizi the ICT Officer and Communications Officer, Rev Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize, todays service marks the beginning of a series of confirmation services that will be held in schools and across the 62 parishes of the Diocese of Kinkiizi throughout the year.
