KASESE- This is a heartbreaking story about an 80-year-old woman, Yosinta Bakunzi, who is in a difficult situation at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Central Division of Kasese Municipality after being hit by a speeding car on 06th Feb 2025 at Majengo trading center in Kasese Municipality.
Ms. Bakunzi was involved in a motorcycle accident, which left her with a broken leg, and is now stuck at Mt. St. Mary’s hospital in Kasese District due to her inability to pay the hospital bills.
And to make matters worse, Ms. Bakunzi claims to have no relatives in the area and has lost all her children. She is relying on the kindness of well-wishers to come to her aid and help her receive the medical attention she needs. The situation is even direr as her landlord is threatening to evict her and throw out her belongings, leaving her with nowhere to go.
This story highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals, particularly the elderly, who are often left to fend for themselves in times of need. It’s heartbreaking to think that Ms. Bakunzi is facing this situation alone, and it’s crucial that we come together as a community to support her.

An official from the facility who preferred anonymity said Bakunzi is now in bad conditions since she is not yet attended to after failing to raise money for her medical expenses to start with.
