The NRM National Chairperson and the presidential flag bearer President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has today October 11th emphasized the ruling party’s legacy of peace, development, and wealth creation across Northern Uganda.
President Museveni who campaigned at Namrwodho Primary School Playground in Nebbi and at Zombo Upper Primary School in Zombo District asked the people to safeguard the achievements ahead of the 2026 general elections.
President Museveni was accompanied by the First Lady who is also the Minister of Education and Sports Mrs Janet Kataha Museveni and was received by Senior NRM leaders who included the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, CEC members led by NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Region Hon Hamson Obua, the NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon Richard Todwong, Ministers, party flagbearers and other local leaders.
During his address to thousands of NRM party supporter who attended the rallies, the President pointed out visible transformation across the region including improved road infrastructure, education, better healthcare, agricultural productivity and energy for production and value addition as examples of the deliberate planning and sustained efforts of the NRM government.
He pointed out the Nebbi–Pakwach road has greatly improved transport between the two districts and beyond and said that the government has already approved the upgrading of the 16km Nebbi–Goli Road and construction works continue on the Nyee–Nebbi and Nebbi–Arua roads while several Municipal roads have been tarmacked.
Additionally, the President said that the the Nebbi Power Substation a flagship project under the NRM 2021–2026 manifesto has now powers the entire West Nile subregion, driving both growth and business opportunities.

Earlier, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda and Government Chief Whip, Hon Denis Hamson Obua, who joined the campaign rallies in both Nebbi and Zomb districts, praised the President’s transformative leadership, describing him as a dependable and visionary leader committed to improving livelihoods through wealth creation programs.
“There is no candidate more reliable and dependable than the one who has made history by introducing wealth creation projects aimed at transforming every household into a money-generating economy,” Hon Obua said.
He added that lasting peace in West Nile and the greater Northern Uganda region had been achieved under the stewardship of Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he referred to as the pacifier of Nebbi, Gulu and the entire region.
Hon Obua further aligned himself with the First Lady’s call against violence, tribalism, and hatred, urging the people of Nebbi and Zombo to remain united and to rally behind the NRM as it continues to consolidate peace and economic transformation.
The events were graced by the former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda The Most Rev Henry Luke Orombi who thanked President Museveni for presiding over the peace the country has enjoyed over years and prayed for continued peace and development.
