A campaign poster for NUP aspirant MP for Rushenyi County Mr Oscar T Kamugira that was seen placed in the middle of the road in Rubaare Town Council, has sparked conversation among residents. The residents alleged that the poster prominently features the aspirant’s image and message, aiming to reach a wide audience in the area.
The poor strategic placement of the poster in a high-traffic area like Omukidebe Kagango ward in Rubaare Town Council a prone area for accidents was unfair to the road users. The witness Mr Gabriel Arahi who spoke to our reporter over anonymity said it caused inconvenience to road users.
”I my self disrupted me, I saw the campaign poster placed in the middle of the road at around 6:35 am in Omukidebe which is the spot area for accidents”. The witness added
Other witnesses refer it to the NUP supporters who seem enthusiastic about the campaign to place a poster of their candidate to attract the audience as the community is eagerly awaiting the elections to see who will emerge victorious.
Mr Isma Karyango the NUP Ntungamo coordinator also aspiring councilor for Kagango ward at Rubaare town council distanced himself and other NUP supporters for the action saying that he was called at around 6:45 am by a concerned resident about the erecting of Rushenyi NUP parliamentary candidate campaign poster. He added that those posters were erected on Tuesday 27th in convenient places but he doesn’t know who got them originally where they were placed and put them in the Middle of the road.
He castigated on non NUP supporters to have involved in the act to tanish the name of the party in Rushenyi County.
