KAMPALA- A section of artists has embarked on a move to advocate for an independent Ministry in charge of Art, Culture and Creative.
During a stakeholder’s engagement with the management of Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) at National Theatre, some artistes stressed that this will place the government to have enough time for the Art Industry to develop.
Peter Ojede, Executive Director Uganda National Cultural Centre says there is need to review the UNCC Act to accommodate the needs of the current artists.
Professor Opio Okaka the chairperson board of trustees at Uganda National Cultural Centre says Art and Culture have bigger roles that can be handled by an independent Ministry.
