The Ntungamo District Commercial Officer, Mr Ezra Aryanyijuka warned Sacco users to stop the habit of multiple borrowing, misusing the loans acquired from the Saccos and luxury targets.
Mr Ezra said some Sacco members tend to use the acquired loans from their Sacco and misuse them by paying dowries, visiting their daughters and son’s inlaw and others use the loans for luxuries like attending pork joints, bar and gaming machines.

His remarks were echoed during a zonal mobilization meeting with Kajara people’s Sacco limited board members, Sacco members, delegates and the joining members on 6th, August 2025.
He added that it is senseless when a member joins a Sacco without the intention of acquiring a loan, stressing that to get a loan in a bank, someone could have set a plan prior requesting the loan from the Sacco.
The Kajara people’s Sacco chairperson, Mr. Maj. Gen. Jim Willis echoed DCO’s sentiment urging the Sacco members to stop multiple borrowing and misuse of borrowed loans. He also noted that those are some of the habits that led to the collapse of Saccos.
The General Manager of the Sacco, Mr Akamukwasa Yusuf said that currently there is reduction in defaulters compared to last years. He also called on non-members to come on board and open an account, save and buy shares to boost the developments of the Sacco.
He stressed that cooperation is the key to their Sacco’s development among the members. He advised that when you save little you reap much. Mr Akamukwasa said the Sacco is now old 25 years old housed with over 800 Members.
Rev. Didas Niwamanya thanked the Sacco team for the unwavering service to the people of Kafunjo and other branches. He added that he bought a plantation after borrowing the money from Kajara people’s Sacco.
The Sacco Marketing boss Ms Agirembabazi Asasira underlined the types of loans including, business loan, agriculture loan, school fees loan, salary loan, emergency loan, boda boda loan, water harvest, group loan, institution loan among others.
Ms Loyce Amagara a member and an attendee at the meeting coughs on board committee to always hold general meetings after the board committee with the delegates meeting.
