KAMPALA- Two legislators of the Forum for Democratic Change FDC have been invited to attend the NRM parliamentary caucus that is ongoing at State House Entebbe.

The MPs are Kilak North MP from Amuru district Anthony Akol and Jonam county mp in Pakwach district Emmanuel Ongiertho.

The two mps join their counterparts in opposition from NUP Twaha Kagabo from Bukoto south and Njeru Municipality MP Jimmy Lwanga who are always invited for caucus meetings.

Government spokesperson Hamson Obua has confirmed the invitation extended to the two legislators and says that the two have expressed their intention to align with the NRM but they have not officially joined the party.

The Kilak North MP Anthony Akol, speaking to journalists before departing for the meeting, noted that he is not aware of the proceedings during these sessions, however, if given the opportunity to speak, he is prepared to contribute.

Akol also mentioned that he is not attending the NRM caucus for personal reasons, emphasizing that he has consistently been vocal and has advocated for the issues of his constituents.

Furthermore, Akol stated that his interests extend beyond advocating for the issues of Amuru district; he aims to address concerns affecting the entire region.

When asked whether he has now joined the NRM, he responded that this will be considered if the issues they have presented to the government are handled.
