BUSHENYI- In the just released 2024 Primary Leaving Examination results, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality has again topped Municipalities with magnificent performance from the candidates.

Parental care Primary school emerged Bushenyi – Ishaka municipality overall winners. Out of 81 candidates who Sat for 2024 PLE, 78 passed in division one while 3 others came in second grade.

Tayebwa Desmond, the school head teacher attributed good performance to God fearing candidates, enough revision, teamwork amongst teachers, school management committees.

Not only did the School emerge the best in the Municipality, it also topped the list of best performers in the Western Uganda.

On the list, Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi is followed by Mbarara Municipal Primary School, St. Mukasa Preparatory School, Trusted Care Primary School Kasese, Mbarara Junior, Pearl Junior School, Kabale’s Bishop Asili Primary School, Mother Care Ntungamo, Rukungiri’s Nyakibale Parents’ School, Ntanda SDA and Banyatereza in Fort Portal City.

This is according to average aggregate.

According to the Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipal inspector of schools, Fred Mugisha, in the 2024 PLE results, they managed to get 814(52.1%) pupils compared to 771 in 2023. Mugisha noted that 662 (42.4%) pupils were in grade two compared to 668 pupils in 2023.

The Official revealed that only 6 pupils didn’t show up to do their Exam out of the 1561 pupils that were registered for the 2024 exams.

Over 797,000 pupils sat for the exams in 2024. That’s a 6.4% jump from the previous year, and guess what?

Girls are still leading the way, making up a solid 52.5% of the candidates.
