The Police in Kabale District have registered a single fatal road accident where one person died on the spot and several others were got serious injured.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident that took place yesterday Sept 1st evening at Kabaraga village along Kabale – Mbarara highway where motor vehicle registration number UBA 675T from Kabale was involved after developing break failure and overturned.
Maate identified the deceased as one year old baby girl Jovita Nuwatuha daughter to Habaasa Evas a teacher and resident of Ntungamo district and other injured victims are, Kaninye Mathias the driver, Ahereza Derrick a student of Mbarara university, Habaasa Evas a teacher in Ntungamo and mother of the deceased, Nuwasiima Viran, Dare Samuel a Nigerian by nationality and lecturer at Kabale University and Ampaire Tracy a student of Mbarara university.
Maate said that the scene of accident was visited by DPC Kabale Okello and traffic team and the victims were taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment and the body was taken to the same Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination and the vehicle was towed and parked at Kabale Central Police Station pending inspection by Inspector of Vehicles.
