MITOOMA– Following people’s outcry over lack of safe and clean water for use in Nyakizinga Sub County, Mitooma District, the Ruhinda South county hopeful Member of Parliament Herbert Asiimwe Banyanga has launched water extension project at Nyakatugunda cell.
While speaking to residents of Nyakatugunda where the first project of 700 metres extension has been constructed, Banyanga noted that after hearing people’s outcry, he has since lobbied over 250 boreholes from Canadian partners but decided to convert the donation to over Ugx 10 million to make extensions of water from the main lines.
This is meant to ensure that people who couldn’t access the water from the main lines can now be able with promises of extending each line by 700m annually.

Meanwhile Kekikumba Scovia the Mitooma district councilor representing Nyakizinga sub county asked all people who have the capacity of helping others to emulate this and support the government in extending services to needy communities.
Kekikumba hailed Banyanga stressing that the water in this area was only beneficial to people along the main roads and facilities neglecting villages, where people are in dire need.
