The Police in Kisoro District are investigating mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a 21year old man identified as Ivan Niyonsaba a casual labourer and resident of Zindiro cell in Kamonyi Ward of Northern Division in Kisoro Municipality whose body was today morning found in a trench at Kisoro old market.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident which is alleged to have happened in the night of 24th September 2025.
Its reported that unknown assailants ambushed the deceased who is said to have left his home for his usual work of a porter and he did not get back home until when he was found lying dead in the trench today September 25th 2025 morning.
Maate said that the scene of crime was examined and documented, the body was conveyed to Kisoro General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination awaiting handover to the relatives for burial.
Maate said that inquiries at hand to apprehend the suspects who are still on tge run and establish the motive behind the murder.
