President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has emphasized that the National Resistance Movement has always been committed to ensuring peace and development in Uganda.
While addressing a mega rally at Nabweru Playground in Nansana Municipality, President Museveni said that peace is paramount and assured the community that with the strength of the UPDF, any threats to peace would be swiftly dealt with.
“We are also enhancing Police presence to tackle crime effectively and implementing measures like road cameras and advanced number plates for better security,” President Museveni said.
President Museveni who was accompanied by his wife Maama Janet Kataha Museveni presided over the groundbreaking of the 12km Bukasa–Sentema–Kakiri Road, an important link that will ease movement, boost trade and deepen integration, in line with Point 5 of the 10-Point Programme.
“From the time of the bush, there have been all these developments including tarmaced roads and more which leaders keep talking about but for us, we believe poverty is individual, while development is collective,” The President said.
President Museveni in Wakiso challenged leaders to preach wealth creation at household level saying that every home join the money economy.
Ealier in the day while on the way to address the youth in Wampewo, Gayaza, President Museveni inspected the progress of tarmacking of the road from Matuuga through Kasangati to Kira where he expressed happiness with the developments and on going works.
