The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has concluded his campaign trail in Rwenzori and Tooro Sub regions with the final rally in Kyenjojo District where he affirmed jobs and wealth creation initiatives and promised to attract investors to scale up industrialization in efforts in the area.
While addressing a campaign rally at Katoosa Primary School Playgrounds in Kyenjojo District, President Museveni unpacked plans to boost diary farming in Kyenjojo District through the established of a milk processing plant to beef up earlier initiatives in that course.
The President also categorically dismissed the suggestion to establish the proposed industrial park on the forest land in Kyenjojo District and rather promised to assist in the purchase of a suitable piece of land on which to set up the planned industrial park to avail job opportunities to Kyenjojo District residents.
President Musevenirallied the people of Kyenjojo District to safeguard the prevailing peace and stability brought by the NRM government in their area for further development and socioeconomic transformation and cautioned the people against obsession with political positions and guided them to prioritize wealth creation at personal and household levels.
Presidential Candidate Museveni has cited several examples of former political aspirants including Joseph Basangwa of Kamuli district, Fred Byamukama the state Minister for Transport who embraced his guidance to prioritize wealth creation and have since turned welathy which is of great significance to themselves and people around them.
President Museveni advised the people of Kyenjojo District to take advantage of the improving infrastructural developments to involve in wealth creation and lined up several tarmac road projects scheduled for Kyenjojo District that include Kyenjojo – Kyegegwa – Mpara – Bwizi road, Fort Portal – Kijura road and others which are planned for upgrade in the district and noted that the NRM has drawn a comprehensive road maintenance strategy for both tarmac and murram roads.

The Presidential Candidate rallied leaders and the people of Kyenjojo District to embrace the prioritization approach drawn by the NRM to scale up key development infrastructure ranging from roads, electricity, telecommunication services, water distribution and others and directed for arrest and prosecution of corrupt PDM officials who ask for kickbacks from beneficiaries.
“It’s criminal for PDM fund managers to solicit from the fund beneficiaries and has instructed the Minister for Local Government Raphael Magyezi to promptly intervene with the Parish Development Model Secretariate,” He said.
He advised the people of Kyenjojo District to convene Parish conferences and sack all corrupt Parish Development Model officials and promised enhanced development interventions next year from proceeds of Uganda’s oil that is due for exploitation in 2026.
President Museveni also highlighted Uganda’s infrastructural development course so far and assured the people of Kyenjojo District that government has paid off the contractor for Mubende – Fort Portal road among other funded initiatives and assured the people of Kyenjojo District of NRM government plans to scale up wealth creation initiatives for small and large scale land owners as he elaborated on the 4 acre model initiative and proper enterprise selection.
The NRM second National Vice Chairperson Rt Hon Anita Among who accompanied the President outlined development initiatives earmarked for Kyenjojo District in the National Development Plan IV which was approved by Parliament.
