President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today met and held discussion with the British High Commissioner to Uganda, Her Excellence Lisa Chesney together with the British Defence Attaché, Lt Col Ash Wiseman and Mr Nigel Holmes.
According to a statement issued by State House, the President met the British High Commissioner and her team at Nakasero State Lodge and his visitors had fruitful discussions and he welcome them to Uganda.
President Museveni has been actively engaged with United Kingdom representatives regarding trade, investment and regional stability.
Key discussions in recent engagements with the British High Commission delegations included Trade and Investment Expansion.
On February 23rd 2026, President Museveni met with a high-level UK-India-Uganda trade delegation which included members of the Westminster Africa Business Association and discussed strengthening partnerships in manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing.
The discussions centered on supporting Uganda’s goal of ten-fold growth by increasing exports to the United Kingdom and transitioning to high-value industries.
President Museveni emphasized Uganda’s role of Continental Integration as a stable gateway to the African market, inviting United Kingdom investors to use the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to reach over 1.5 billion consumers.
On the issue of infrastructure and value addition, the two leaders discussed the need for investment in processing industries, infrastructure, and skills development, particularly in oil and gas.
