President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that East African Federation should be the ultimate goal for regional member States to attain both economic and strategic security objectives.

President Museveni made the remarks last evening December 3rd during a media interaction with journalists from Ankole Sub-region at Rwakitura in Kiruhura District while explaining the power of East Africa’s regional unity in the four security dimensions and a consolidated market.

President Museveni highlighted the NRM government’s contributions to Uganda’s development and socioeconomic transformation including peace and security, both  economic and social development, wealth creation and jobs and regional integration.

He assured Tea growers in Ankole Sub region and the country at large of government intervention to address challenges affecting the Tea sector with an additional Ugx 360 billion Fund and markets.

President Museveni has also promised to tighten quality control measures for the Tea sector to improve the competitiveness of Uganda’s Tea on the global market.

During the meeting attended by top National Resistance Movement leaders, the NRM Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni guided the disconnected losers of NRM primaries who opted to contest and independent candidates to step down and support the flagbearers in order to maintain cohesion in the party.

President Museveni will today continue with his nationwide campaign with a rally in Rwenzori Sub-region starting with Kasese District at Nyakasanga Playgrounds.
