Bugembe and family of the late Babumba

Senior Pastor Wilson Bugembe of Worship House Ministries accompanied Archbishop Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, in a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late Rtd. Maj. Babumba Henry Bwohe. A distinguished National Resistance Army (NRA) freedom fighter and former senior pilot with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Maj. Bwohe passed away on December 23, 2025, at Nakasero Hospital.

Archbishop Kaziimba had previously visited the family, expressing his condolences after the loss of Maj. Bwohe. Pastor Bugembe, a renowned gospel singer and founder of Worship House Ministries in Nansana, is well-known for his impactful ministry. His visit to the family residence in Ndejje–Lubugumu along Entebbe Road provided an opportunity for prayer, comfort, and reflection on the life of the veteran pilot and nationalist.

Accompanied by his Personal Assistant, Ms. Doreen Mulumba, Mr. Derick Mugambwa, Mr. Ben Mwanje of Highway College Makerere, and his security detail, Pastor Bugembe joined other members, including Ms. Nabakooza Teopista Omuzaana, in honoring the deceased.

In his sermon, Pastor Bugembe praised the family for their unwavering support to Maj. Bwohe throughout his life, especially in his final days. He conveyed gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his financial assistance and support, as well as to Nakasero Hospital for the care provided during the late Maj.’s illness.

Pastor Bugembe reflected on the meaningful life of Maj. Bwohe, emphasizing his impact during Uganda’s liberation struggles. Before concluding the visit, he prayed for the family’s strength and unity, encouraging them to trust in God’s provision during this difficult time.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Kabahinda Cathy Babumba expressed heartfelt thanks to Pastor Bugembe and acknowledged the spiritual peace their father found before his passing. She also expressed gratitude to the medical team, colleagues, and friends who supported the family through the late Maj.’s medical journey.

The late Maj.’s youngest daughter, Nankya Bwohe Marian, reminded Pastor Bugembe of her prayer request from June 2025 for God’s favor upon the family.

Mrs. Kyarisiima Margaret Babumba, the late Maj.’s widow, conveyed her deep appreciation to Pastor Bugembe for his longstanding relationship with their family, recalling his visit to her husband at Nakasero Hospital that led to her husband’s salvation. She also thanked various individuals and organizations for their support.

Rtd. Lt. Moses Mugisha Magufuri highlighted Pastor Bugembe’s visit as a testament to the profound love for the Babumba family, emphasizing that love serves as the foundation for healing and unity.

Pastor Bugembe’s visit not only brought comfort but also reminded those present of the values upheld by the late Rtd. Maj. Babumba: service, compassion, and unity for the well-being of all Ugandans, particularly through the initiatives of the Babumba Foundation.

As the family navigates this period of mourning, they do so with faith and community support, committed to carrying forward the legacy of integrity and love for humanity instilled by the late Maj. Bwohe. Burial arrangements will be announced following family consultations in accordance with the deceased’s wishes.
