The Secretary-General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States Ambassador Moussa Saleh Batraki has today, paid a courtesy call on the Speaker, Jacob Markson Oboth-Oboth.
Ambassador Batraki was accompanied to the meeting by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa who is also the President of the the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States Parliamentary Assembly and Co-President of the OACPS–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.
The discussions centred on the possibility of Uganda hosting the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly later in the year.
The event brings together parliamentarians from Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and the European Union providing a platform to strengthen cooperation and dialogue.
Rt Hon Oboth-Oboth Oboth pledged Parliament’s commitment to international engagement expressing pride in Uganda’s influence on the global parliamentary stage.
