NEWS- A 35-year-old woman passenger was found dead aboard a Kampala-bound Jaguar bus in Kisoro.
The deceased identified as Mulakigeri Flavia, a peasant and resident of Chondo village, Rukongi Parish, Nyarusiza Sub County in Kisoro district, had been battling breast cancer for the past three years, receiving treatment at the Cancer Institute in Mbarara.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson stated that the deceased has been battling with breast cancer for the last three years and she has been getting her treatment from cancer institute Mbarara, since when she was diagnosed with the disease.
Apparently, her condition worsened this week on Tuesday morning, prompting her caretakers to rush her to Mbarara. After being discharged yesterday, they boarded a Jaguar bus back to Kisoro.
Unfortunately, she passed away while they were en route, at Ntungamo and the caretaker chose to remain silent until they arrived in Kisoro around 6:00 PM and she informed the Police.
Maate told our reporter that the scene of the crime was visited by the district Soco and a team of detectives, who documented the incident, and statements were recorded from relevant witnesses, and the body was taken to Kisoro Hospital for postmortem examination.
