NEWS- Over Ugx 30 million, 54 bags of cement were yesterday raised in cash at St Andrew’s Church Kihihi Archdeaconry in Kihihi Town Council in Kanungu District while Ugx 400,000 was in pledges.
The money was raised on Sunday November 26th 2023, during a thanksgiving ceremony that was organised by Kihihi Archdeacon Ven. Rev Richard Tumwebaze and his wife thanking God for the achievements they have attained in their lives.
The Guest of Honor Christopher Safari thanked the Archdeacon Kihihi Archdeaconry for inviting him to be the guest of at the function where he contributed over Ugx 5 million towards the construction of the new church at St Andrews Church in Kihihi Town Council.
According to Ven Rev Tumwebaze the church leaders came up with the idea to construct a new modern church after the current one became insufficient to accommodate the ever increasing number of Christians.
According to the Chairman of the Construction Committee Twehikire Baker, Ugx 3 billion is required to construct a new modern church at St Andrews in Kihihi Town Council and asked all people to emulate the Archdeacon to ensure that the needed funds are realised for the cause.
