The Police in Rukungiri District are investigating circumstances under which a 79 year old man identified as Benard Biryomumisho waa allegedly murdered, after his body was yesterday discovered in his house in
Kasharara village in Ibanda Parish in Nyarushanje Sub-county.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the incident and said that it is alleged that, the deceased was last seen in the trading center of Nyarushanje going home on Sunday evening and later in the night he entered his house to sleep where he has been staying alone in the house.
It’s further alleged that, the assailants gained access through the door, entered inside the house to the bed room and cut him several cuts on the head and died instantly and they fled the scene with half a sack of coffee.
The son Ndyareba Boneventure went to check on him, tried to push the door and saw the deceased dead in his bed room, and reported at Police of Rubabo who also reported to Rukungiri Central Station who visited the scene and processed and documented it and conveyed the body to Rwakabengo Health Center lll mortuary for postmortem examination.
