NEWS- It was glamour and pomp at Nyakibale Lower Primary School in Rukungiri Municipality, Southwest Uganda as the staff, parents and well wishers bid farewell to one of its long-serving senior staff, teacher. Jane Neema Kakurugu.
This was during a Thanksgiving Mass held at the school premises on Sunday, November 12th preceded by the mass whose main celebrant Rev. Fr. Benjamin Tukamushaba, the Katojo Parish Priest in Buyanja, Rukungiri district hailed the management of Nyakibale lower primary school for honoring their retirees and bidding them such an official farewell.
The retiring teacher, Neema Jane Kakurugu has been serving as the deputy headteacher from 2004 until she clocked 60 years on 19th October.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Tukamushaba advised other teachers to learn to serve diligently and also tipped them on preparing for memorable early retirement. The Priest challenged teachers who cheat learners by dodging lessons stressing that the habit is a bad gesture not only to the learners but the Country as well.
The retired teacher, Jane Neema Kakurugu, thanked all the staff she has served with that enabled her work to be easier all the time.
The Nyakibale Lower Primary School Parents-Teachers Association Chairman thanked Neema for service above self adding that she did a great job in reviving the glory of the school which had started deteriorating and wished her the best of luck in her retirement.
Karambuzi Peter the School management committee thanked Neema for being brave and standing on her words intimating that the school will miss her counsel and service since she was a good leader, a reason the school management decided to bid her such first ever farewell.
Karambuzi added that Neema set a standard during her time as the caretaker headteacher where the current Headteacher Henry Byarugaba picked from and has been maintained and promised to maintain the same standard and even do better.
Henry Byarugaba the School headteacher noted that it was much essential to bid Neema such a farewell for her 19 years dedicated service as deputy headteacher.
Byarugaba hailed Neema stressing that the function was to appreciate her efforts, good team leadership skills, commitment to her work, self esteem, love for school and being a straight forward person on issues to do with development.
