KAGADI- The Uganda Rural development training (URDT) organization under the directorate of epicenter strategy has deployed 7 new Epicenter Managers to the sub-counties of greater Kibaale District.

This has been unveiled today during the workshop  at URDT center for reflection in Kagadi town council where the deployed Epicenter Managers including Night Theopista were graduated in November last year from African Rural University (ARU), 

In the context of the African Rural University (ARU), Epicenter Managers are female leaders, trained by the university, who return to their communities to drive positive change and rural transformation through a community-led, gender-focused development approach.

The seven new Epicenter Managers include Mariam Ampire sent to Bwanswa sub-county, Diana Nambuya-Nyamarunda sub-county, Claire Nakate-Kabamba sub-county and Kobusinge Mawanda-Muhorro sub-county.

Others are Jane Atuhaire-Birembo sub-county, Rinah Osiime-Nalweyo sub-county and Loyce Wakwaryworth- Rugashali sub-county.

However, Night Theopista was retained by the university as an administrator: community engagement department/ teaching assistant.

 Suzan Otim Apili, the director Epcenter strategy at URDT says employed to coordinate the activities with the sub-counties of Kagadi, Kibaale and Kakumiro  

She added that the Epicenter Managers will also work closely with communities and local authorities to nurture rural innovation for the benefit of people and the planet to foster a sense of community-driven development.

Otim has urged Epicenter Managers to work hard in hand with the communities to improve their standards of living in all aspects to maintain the image of the University.

Speaking to Epicenter Managers led by the class coordinator, Jane Atuhaire says that before their deployment, they have passed through various practicums including field work.

They promised to execute the improved duties by implementing what they were taught and they commended African-Rural University supporting them to change their homes and the communities.
