The Police in Bwera Division in Kasese District, have arrested a 20 year old man identified as Kelvin Mumbere a resident of Buswagha village in Mughete Parish in Kitabu Sub-county for allegedly having carnal knowledge with a 4 yrs old girl.
Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the arrest saying that the suspect went to the home of the victim in the neighborhood last evening where he found the victim and other 3 children playing.
It is reported that the suspect called the victim to follow him promising to buy for her bread and the victim accepted then the suspect held her hand and they moved together up to a certain destination where the suspect took her behind an old house, undressed her knicker and performed the sexual act.
Maate explained that later, the suspect told the victim to go back to their home and on reaching there she informed the mother about what had happened to her.
Maate said that the Police was immediately notified, and the suspect was traced and arrested as investigations continue.

Meanwhile the Police in Rukungiri District have started investigating circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man identified as Mutabaruka a resident of Rugooma Cell in Southern Ward of Kebisoni Town Council.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Nelson Tumushime confirmed the incident saying that according to the eye witnesses, the deceased was a shamba man who was working in a banana plantation and immediately after receiving a payment of Ugx 2000 he went to drink in the nearby Trading Centre, but was later discovered dead alongside the main the road.
Tumushime said that the Police at Rukungiri swiftly responded to the scene, processed it and body was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Centre Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of his death.
Tumushime has since appealed to the general public with any information that led to Mutabaruka death to share it in confidence with the Police so that suspects are arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
