The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has promised to apprehend intimidators of NRM supporters in Masaka City as he assured them of peaceful election period.

The decision followed complaints from NRM leaders who reported to President Museveni that there are opposition politicians who are threatening NRM flag bearers and supporters over their choice to belong and support the ruling National Resistance Movement Party and promised to apprehend such erant characters for their criminal behavior.

While addressing a campaign rally at Masaka Liberation Square in Masaka City, President Museveni also promised to address a number of requests presented to him by Masaka district and City NRM leaders.

He cautioned the electorate electorate of Masaka District and City against voting for ideologically disoriented opposition politicians because they selfishly block development initiatives  by government especially wealth creation programs. 

He noted that opposition politicians have for long frustrated development programs in Masaka until he had to stand his ground to implement the visible development strides currently seeb in Masaka district and City at large.

Candidate Museveni called on the people of Masaka District and City to vote for development oriented leaders from the NRM Party for more development and wealth creation programs and asked them to fully enroll onto the vast government socioeconomic empowerment funds for district wealth creation.

He confirmed that the government has agreed to increase the Parish Development Model Funds to from Ugx 100 million per parish to Ugx 300 million in the next term of office aimed at meeting the high demand for welath creation funds and further listed more work groups planned for inclusion into wealth creation funding that include fishing communities, bodaboda and car mechanics among others

The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate ruled out any excuses for anyone to remain poor in Masaka district and City because the NRM government has initiated enough wealth creation initiatives to cater for all clusters of people as rallied them to maintain their support for the ruling National Resistance Movement Party.

President Museveni unmasked opposition politicians’ deceitful politics that he says has slowed some wealth creation initiatives for Masaka until he stood his ground on the same and said that both Masaka District and City would be better off in development and socioeconomic transformation without opposition politicians in charge of leadership position.

He confirmed two new industrial parks for Masaka District and City in his next term of office as part of his plans toè scaleup job opportunities for area residents and the planned industrial parks will be situated on the piece of land donated by Vice President emeritus Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi at Bukakata and another industrial park planned for Lukaya Town Council.

He elaborated the prospects of the youth skilling initiative implemented through the Presidential zonal Industrial skilling Hubs with testimonies of success stories and confirmed Uganda’s steady progress of the manufacturing sector as one of the major job opportunity sectors in the country 

Presidential Candidate Museveni noted that the procurement of 450 KIIRA Electric Buses by the government of South Africa is the latest affirmation of Uganda’s stance on industrialization and has asked the electorate of Masaka District and City to vote for the NRM in the forthcoming general elections for further development and  reminded the electorate of Masaka District and City not to gamble with leadership and opposition politicians who he has are mediocres.

President Museveni commended residents of Masaka District and City for their impressive uptake of the coffee growing initiative and promised to grant irrigation schemes and fertilizers to boost their yields through enhance water distribution efforts for both areas and assured the residents of Kyesiiga Sub county of plans to deliver electricity through its villages in as the only pending Sub county on electricity reach in the district.

President Museveni committed to Tarmac a number of roads in Masaka City and District to supplement the already existing tarmac coverage and reminded the people on the NRM course for peace and unity on which the current thriving development and national cohesion has been built .

While speaking at the same venue, the NRM first national vice Chairperson Alhaji Moses Kigongo proposed new campaign mobilization strategies for Masaka to win the forthcoming general elections at all levels 

The NRM second National Vice Chairperson female Rt Hon Anita Among highlighted development interventions by the NRM in Masaka City and District and warned opposition 34 politicians for clinging on NRM gains.
