RUKUNGIRI- The Management of Boona FM a Radio Station based in Rukungiri have announced the 8th Annual Public Puller gathering for its listeners, the community and businesses sector commonly known as ‘Ekiguutuuro’.
According to the Chief Executive Director of Boona Radio, Maanige Wenseslas, the mega event will be held on July 12th 2025 at Rukungiri Municipal Stadium in Rukungiri District and this year’s event has been renamed as “EKIGUUTUURO RUHENDA MYAMBI” meaning that it will be the best ever.
According to Maanige, this year’s Ekiguutuuro event will add many activities on their menu on top of what they have been having in the previous editions.
While addressing the Media at Plantinum Classic Suits Hotel in Buyanja Town Council yesterday Feb 24th, Maanige said that the Ekiguturo was designed by the Management right from the inception of Boona Radio as a way to give back to their listening world across the region in Rukungiri, Kanungu, Kabale, Rubanda, Rukiga, Kisoro, Mitooma, Kasese, Ntungamo, Sheema and as far as Isingiro and Mbarara Districts.
“We shall remain leaders in the entertainment world and this time we shall announce the super musicians and artists that will be on stage performing” Maanige said.
He revealed that on top of the many activities that have been displayed during the Ekiguturo, a new product of ‘Bicycle Race’ has been introduced aiming at reaching down the listener.
Maanige said that there will also be a walk through Rukungiri Municipality which will be graced by different religious leaders as an awareness campaign about the Ekiguturo on top of other activities like sports that will be in different areas and Sub counties.
As it has been done in the past, Radio Boona will conduct pre-event (Akasiki) functions in Kihihi Town Council at Entare Gardens, Mbarara City, Ishaka – Bushenyi at Kizinda Market, Rubaare Town in Ntungamo and Kikagati Town in Isingiro District.
Maanige assured all the revellers that will participate in the Ekiguturo activities wherever they will be that high stake security measures will be put in place to protect them and their properties.
According to Boona Activation Officer Micheal Kasoozi said that the entry fee to the Ekiguturo remains at Ugx 10,000, but hastened to say that those who will buy tickets from their offices and or Agents will part with only Ugx 8,000 as a discount and these will be provided with a special entry gate.
Kasoozi appealed to Rukungiri Business Community to book stalls to sell their products to the large crowds that will be attending the mega event.
The function is so far powered by Pepisi-Cola Company whose products are popular with many people and Plantinum Classic Suits Hotel whose services are unrivalled.
