UGANDA- The family of the late Lay Canon Bahinguza of Ruhinda Rukungiri woke up to the sad news of the demise of their son, the late Dr Jotham (Joe) Mugisha Bahinguza on the 17th Jan 2025.

Dr Mugisha has been a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry at The Priory Hospital Woking in the United Kingdom for nearly 40 years.

As  very brilliant pioneer students of Makobole Highschool and Head Prefect, Mugusha did so well at O’level securing 8 points out of 8 subjects and got admitted to the famous Kings College Buddo for A’Level where he excelled in sciences before obtaining a degree in medicine.

He went to … and Cardiff University Law School Bond Solon where he acquired Expert Witness Certificate…… One of his former classmates described him as one of the most brilliant students in Uganda at the time, whose leadership acumen outshined everyone else’s.

“Because of his brilliance, he became the head prefect of Makobore, in footsteps of his brother the late James Bahinguza”

He denotes that Dr. Mugisha and his aforementioned brother were some of the first brains from Rujumbura and Ruhinda in particular to study from Kings Buddo College which was highly rated at that time, as a preserve of children of Kings, high ranking Ugandans and expatriates.

For very many years,the late Dr. Mugisha has been working and living in UK together with his family.

Dr Mugisha has been Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists recognized under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act of the UK, Member of the Medical Protection Society as well as a member of the British Medical Association GMS Specialist Register. GMC No: 3403974
