NEWS- The Directorate of Traffic Road Safety in the Uganda Police Micheal Kananura has announced that the road in between Kyengera and Budo Junction along Kampala -Masaka Highway has partially sunk in due to heavy rains this morning.

According to a statement issued today evening, Kananura advised motorists to use the alternative routes to avoid inconveniences until the Uganda National Roads Authority fixed the damaged part of the road.

Kananura said that for motorists from Kampala to Masaka, should use the Nakawuka Road -Budo junction or Kitemu to access Kampala-Masaka highway or use Mityana road – Buloba-Nsangi to access Kampala-Masaka Highway.

He also advised that for motorists from Masaka to Kampala should use the Kitemu or Budo- Nakawuka to access Kampala or Nsangi -Buloba – Mutyana road to access Kampala.

Kananura appeal to the public to exercise the utmost discipline patience as the teams from Traffic Police Uganda National Roads Authority assess the damage on the highway with highest traffic flow in the country.
