The Electoral Commission has declared National Resistance Movement candidate Hon Idah Nabayiga as the winner of the Kalangala District Woman Representative parliamentary by-election after polling 12,642 votes, beating National Unity Platform Ms Irene Nampala who got 7,474 votes.

The election were last night announced by Kalangala District Electoral Commission Registration Ronald Agaba who said that a total of 20611 voters participated in the by-election following the death of Hellen Nakimuli in April this year.

Others who participated in the by-election include Shafrah Babirye 244 votes, Nagawa Hellen Flavia 217 votes and Nasuuna Agnes trailed with 34 votes.
