NEWS- Journalists in Rukungiri district under their umbrella Rukungiri district Media practitioners association have been urged to opt to working hard for their future instead of white collar smart life in towns.
This call was on Saturday 31st August 2024 sounded by Mr. Boaz Kwesiga Rutera a principle farmer in Nyankoro village, Kashayo parish, Bugangari Sub county in Rukungiri district during their ( journalists) visit to his multi million coffee and banana plantation farm.
Boaz Rutera urged media practitioners to use their profession to create occupations for their families if they are to develop saying that their current jobs and smart life cannot be inherited by their children and family members and that education becomes the key to success only if other all factors are remaining constant.
Mr. Rutera asked journalists especially those in their youthful age to find direction, stick to it, work hard, be patient and consistent for the development of themselves and their families.
He explained the stages of life that should be critically studied and followed if they are to develop saying that from 1-25 years one should be a student under normal circumstances, 26-30 for having desires, 30-40 shaping future ( working hard for self), 40-50 working for others and then 60 and onwards for enjoyment not the other way round.
“Some people are poor by choice since they most of them don’t want to work amidst their access to pieces of land but only want to move here and there looking for white collar jobs”, he added.
Isaac Bernard Tushabe, the Rukungiri district Media practitioners association chairman who thanked Rutera for the knowledge and skills shared stressed that they aim at individual and association development hence
calling upon members to embrace and practice whatever they have learnt if they are to transform themselves, their families, communities and the nation as a whole.
Molly Mugabirwe, Robert Rwebiita both members of the association gave votes of applause to Mr. Rutera for his time, dedication pledging to put into practice the knowledge and skills passed on to them and also share the message to other community members.
