Hon Kyatuheire makes a last call for LC1 and Women Councils elections

The National Resistance Movement Party Deputy Treasurer, Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire has called on all Ugandans to take the election for Local Council Chairpersons and Women Council as a most important step in building a better society.

While speaking to Our Reporter last evening July 21st, ahead of the village meetings ‘Baraza’, Hon Kyatuheire noted that, no community member should miss this important village meeting.

“The ‘Baraza’ provides an opportunity to participate in building a strong Party and leadership from the grassroots. Strong villages create strong communities and ultimately a good nation,” Hon Kyatuheire said.

She noted that the responsibility to build a strong government, starts with all Ugandans being able to be accountable to changing communities and attending the village ‘Baraza’ is one of the ways to contribute. 

“All governments programs from Central Government and Local Government end in the villages at LC 1 or Parish level and it’s imperative that the Party must have good cadres to recieve them and oversee their implementation,” She noted.

Hon Kyatuheire who is the NRM Cordinator for Kigezi Sub-region, urged Ugandans to replicate the great support they gave to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and NRM leaders in the last election and should be reflected by higher percentages, by giving overwhelming support NRM flagbearers on Women Council positions and LC 1 elections.

The Village meetings ‘Barazas’ are scheduled for today July 22nd 2026, across the country and as the NRM flag bearers roll out their campaign and the Women Council elections will take place on 23rd July while the LC 1 election will take on 28th July 2026 at respective village headquarters. 

According to Hon Kyatuheire, this is a very critical election and all should Ugandans should turn up and participate by voting NRM candidates for better service delivery of government programs.
