UPDF 2nd Infantry Division Public Information Officer Major Kiconco Tabaro

The Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sent the UPDF 2nd Infantry Division Spokesman and Public Information Officer Major Kiconco Tabaro to Senior Command College Kimaka for a Command Course.

In a message issued Maj Kiconco Tabaro described his working relationship with the media as rewarding, saying journalists played a key role in informing the public about developments within the UPDF.

He commended Managers of radio stations, Editors, programme hosts, and journalists from various media houses, including online platforms, for their professionalism, cooperation and continued support.

Maj Kiconco Tabaro said the media remains an important partner in promoting security, development, and public awareness within the division’s area of responsibility.

The Senior Command and Staff course is the second most military course which shapes commanders for strategic deployments and entails the understanding of strategic leadership and military military at strategic level.

Maj Kiconco Tabaro has previously actively participated in military operations in Northern Uganda during Lords Resistance Army insurgency, in the Rwenzori region during operations against Allied Democratic Forces, with Operation wealth Creation at time when it’s image was under attack by politicians and has been lately engaged in security mobilisation along Democratic Republic of Congo – Uganda border and actively engaged with Rwanda Defense Forces under the umbrella of RDF/UPDF proximity commanders meeting in Uganda and Rwanda.

UPDF sources indicate that he has been in Somalia and many credit him as a thorough door to door security operator who is friendly to everyone where he operates.

During his absence, the UPDF 2nd Infantry Division Political Commissar, Maj Nicholas Kakuru Rwitiri will oversee the responsibilities of the Public Information Office.
