The Police in Katwe – Kabatoro are investigating circumstances under which a 46 year old woman identified as Kyakimwa Topista, a resident of Rwehingo village in Nyakatonzi Sub-county inKasese district was allegedly murdered.
The Rwenzori Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and said that Kyakimwa body was discovered in pool of blood at a farm in Rwehingo.

The deceased is said to have left home on 3rd August and went to Rwehingo Trading Center to buy food stuffs and she didn’t go back home, but was lastly seen taking alcohol at Kabugho Grace’s bar.
Maate explained that the scene of crime was visited, processed and documented and the Police dog was introduced to help in tracking the culprits and in so doing 5 men and 3 women whose names were not revealed and are suspected to be behind the murder were arrested to help in investigations.
Maare said that the body was retrieved and taken to Bwera Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Maate has since appealed to the general public with information that can lead to those involved to volunteer it to Police in confidence so that the culprits are brought to book.
