RUBANDA- President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned the Kamuho – Kabale 135kv power substation in Rubanda District and tasked the populace in Kigezi sub region to embrace the NRM ideology on development.
The president says government is strategically addressing existing bottlenecks progressively to meet to ensure last mile service delivery and wealth creation.
President Yoweri Museveni reveals plans to meet tea growers in the country to address their concerns about tea prices. President Museveni no farmer should blindly take up agricultural ventures without a proper cost benefit analysis (Ekibalo).
He emphasized that small scale land holders should stick to the 4 acre model as those with lager pieces of land go for mechanized agriculture.
President Yoweri Museveni directed Kigezi sub region farmers to back off wetlands and to preserve wetlands and the ecosystems in their areas.
The president says farmer near wetlands can only carry out fishing on swamps banks and leave the main wetland and swamp areas for water to flow swiftly.
In his advice to kigezi residents, the president says maintaining a smooth flow of water in wetland catchment areas will aid irrigation and more benefits to farmers.
