Newly Crowned Miss Tourism Nachap Kezia in the center carrying a bouquet

KAMPALA- September is a month for celebrating  Tourism and in Uganda, there are lots of activities in check for show casing and amplifying the sector in what ever way possible.

Over the weekend, the Grand Finale of the Miss Tourism 2025 took place with queens and  Man of Tourism International   crowned at the auspicious ceremony  at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The master showcase had finalists from the various regions of; Teso, Paranoia, Buganda, Ankole, West Nile, Bunyoro,Tooro, Kigezi, Northern  and Eastern that fronted contestants for the big -do.

By 6: 00pm in the ” Soiree” the guests were seen donned in their outfits that had a touch of culture and others with Ugandan  color hues

The event run aptly under  theme ” Iam my Culture ” which resonated with the on going campaigns of fronting our cultural  identity despite the transformation in the digital era lately.

Over 24 contestants graced the final and the screening and selection was done from the top 10, scaled down to top 5 among  which the  best 3 were crowned respectively.

To get to this stage, it was a  very rigorous process  and one could see the anxiety and fear among the queens especially during the questions and answers session and those that had the aura, poise  and stamina delivered their A- game .

However, this  time around,  there was an inclusion of “Man of Tourism  International”  which saw men  compete among themselves  as  Tourism ambassadors of Uganda.

This was a well – thought  initiative  since the industry is growing and it is our responsibility  to promote the Pearl of Africa  regardless  of our gender.

Since it was a new thing,   obviously for the men or kings to say,   the queens had a knack over them regarding all the aspects.

The 11 contestants were  nipped  to 7 and then got  the top three that  took  on the mantle as maiden  Men of Tourism.

The men were simply smart for their grandeur  in their brown- fitted suits  with a “kikoyi” finishing  that was outstanding and saghkng  below the edges of the blazer.

For the queens, it was royalty with  a cultural glam and then  white sparkling dazzling  dresses and at the same time angelic as they made those royal waves.

Shortly before that, there   was a music interlude by  “Jonathan the Diva ” who stood tall with his  sharp feminine voice  as he sung for the  queens as they rocked the stages.

The night had  tourism  influential judges that included ; Derrick Ssenyonyi,  Enid Mirembe  and  Umaru Muwonge and others not forgeting the host Richard Tuwangye and the main master of Ceremony .
