Museveni takes a photo with a team from African Peer Review Mechanism

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today received and held a meeting with Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Rose Quatre who led the African Peer Review Mechanism delegation at State House Entebbe.

During the meeting, President Museveni was pleased to announce that Uganda will chair the African Peer Review Forum in February 2026 and noted that this role offers a chance to lead in shaping governance and development.

The African Peer Review Mechanism is crucial for African leaders to share ideas and learn from each other and in February 2026, they will address key issues like market integration, because without guaranteed markets businesses remain struggling.

President Museveni noted that Africans must also shift from exporting raw materials to processing them, which retains value and creates jobs and this  competitiveness relies on reducing production costs, including transport, electricity and bank credit.
