The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese the Rt Rev Onesimus Asiimwe has appointed Morrison Rwakakamba as Pillar of the Church, ‘Enyomyo’ in the Diocese.
According to the letter of appointment dated September 21st and signed by Bishop Asiimwe, it spells out the duties that Rwakakamba is expected to exercise while serving as the Pillar of Church of Uganda.
The letter copied to the Diocesan Secretary, Diocesan Treasurer, all Archdeacons and all Parishes indicate that Rwakakamba and others who were appointed alongside will be installed as Pillars of the Church on October 26th 2025.
The Service to install the Pillars will be presided over by the Bishop at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in Rukungiri Municipality.
Rwakakamba who was until recently the Chairman of Uganda Investment Authority and is currently a coffee farmer in Nyeibingo Parish in Kebisoni Sub County and attends St Peter’s Mutaturwa Church of Uganda has been instrumental in contributing to several church projects in the Diocese.
On receiving the appointment, Rwakakamba thanked Bishop Asiimwe for appointing him a Pillar of the Church and pledged commitment to serve to the best of his ability.
“Myself and family thank The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese @AsiimweOnesimus for appointing me Enyomyo “Pillar” of the Church to serve the people of North Kigezi. I will strive and commit to the 4 points articulated in this letter of service appointment.Thank you Bishop”, Rwakakamba said.
Rwakakamba and other Christians appointed ‘Pillars’ are expected to report to the office of the Diocesan Secretary to formalise their appointments before installation due next month.
