NTUNGAMO- The business community in Rubaare town council has lauded the role of media in the progress of the country both socially, politically and economically through their ethical reporting on different business enterprises.
Additionally, the media role in health services, political spheres has been hailed during the celebration of triumphs of Thunder FM on 23rd November 2024 at NM motel in Rubaare town council.
Led by their chairperson, Fred Muhinda flanked by one member committee Ms Lilian Kashaija during the 3rd year celebration of Thunder FM radio since its inception on 18th November 2021, they emphasized the role of media in the country and in foreign countries stressing that without media; the world would have been in darkness.
Muhinda acknowledged that the media has helped the Ugandan business people to advertise and sell off their goods to people they live with and those in far destinations.
The director of Thunder radio FM, Allan Asiimwe a.k.a Don Van Allan urged the business community to distance themselves from politics if they want their business ventures to persist for income generation.
Van Allan added that in the media, there is no sectarianism and racism, since they accept everyone despite their religions, political parties and ethnicity.
He called for cooperation among workers at any station of work to comply with business objectives and visions stressing that combined efforts can make the business thrive.
The Station manager Ms Savior Kihembo hailed the business community for the support towards the three years since the inception of the Radio. Kihembo appealed to the presenters to continue with exceptional information they offer to the listeners when on air to maintain the good reputation of the Radio.
Gifts were given to presenters who performed better throughout the three year period.
