Tayebwa, Eting-Ego in Mitooma

MITOOMA- The 11th parliament deputy speaker RT Honourable Thomas Tayebwa has called for serious action on civil servants who have made it a tendency of abscond from work which he says is a hindrance to service delivery.

Tayebwa sounded the caution while presiding over the grand handover and commissioning of a fully equipped modern maternity ward for Rwoburunga health centre III, that was fully funded by Bank of Uganda and constructed by UPDF engineering brigade, a function that was held at health centre premises in Rwoburunga sub county Mitooma district.

The Deputy Speaker noted that as the government through different entities does its role to ensure service delivery, without the commitment of workers to execute the exact energy and passion in their operations, these services will not benefit the targeted individuals.

Speaking on the same function, the Deputy Governor Bank Of Uganda Dr Michael Atingi-Ego called on residents of Mitooma to mind about environmental protection as part of maintaining sustainable health stressing that the facility is part of their corporate social responsibility.

Juliet Agasha Bashisha , the Mitooma district woman member of parliament noted that this facility will not only uplift the health standards of Mitooma but the neighboring communities as well.

Bashiisha also asked men to continue being supportive to their women especially during antenatal.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sadic Byamugisha, the Mitooma district Health Officer noted that the district is ready to make use of this high quality equipment given to this health Centre and protect them for sustainability.

Byamugisha thanked Bank of Uganda for thinking about the people of Rwoburunga Sub County which is a hard to reach area.
