The National Resistance Movement party Kasese office has broken silence and revealed that they would only support the party flag bearers in the 2026 general elections.
This follows the nomination of 34 parliamentary candidates by the Electoral Commission to participate in the forthcoming general elections in different parties and constituencies.
While addressing a weekly press briefing at the party offices in Kasese Municipality, Ambassador James Mbahimba, the District NRM party chairperson outlined a list of flag bearers that the party would support.
They include Hon. Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga for Bukonzo county West, Dr. Julius Manday Rude for Bukonzo East, Mr. David Isimbwa Mulindwa for Busongora County South, Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa for Busongora North, Hon. Ferigo Kambale for Kasese Muncipality, Mrs. Sarah Ithungu Masereka Baleke for Kasese Woman Member of Parliament and Ms. Jolly Masika Kateeba for Mayor Kasese Municipality.
On the lower local governments, he cited Mr. Richard Bomera for LCIII Bulembia Division, Mr. Brian Kauntura for Nyamwamba Division and Mr. Balam Baluku Bamusede for Central Division among others.
The party chairperson reported that the party would not tolerate independents but party leaning saying that if they were patriotic to the party they wouldn’t have opted for independent candidature.
He quoted the people of Kasese to only vote for the NRM flag bearers describing them as visionary and pro-development.
Mr. Mbahimba also outlined some development that the NRM Party has put in place including roads and bridges in Bukonzo county, Gravitation schemes, Health facilities in both Bukonzo and Busongora County among others.
